The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors are obliterating opponents on their way through the NBA playoffs. Although the Cavaliers series lead in the Conference Finals has shockingly been cut to 2-1 they still appear destined to reach the NBA Finals. Golden State has a 3-0 series lead over their current opponent and a perfect record so far this post season which has only increased the hype surrounding a potential NBA Finals rematch.

Many fans have complained about the lack of competition surrounding the Cavs and Warriors which is completely understandable. Both teams have breezed their way through each round with little resistance from the opposition. Pundits have also pointed out that the amount of talent Golden State and Cleveland possess compared to other NBA teams is downright unfair. That sentiment definitely has some truth to it as each team is stacked but ultimately that’s the way life in the NBA goes. This is something the league may evaluate but one cannot hold the players accountable it.

In a sense  a Warrior and Cavaliers rematch has the potential to be great for the league. When comparing each team’s roster it is apparent that both are loaded with talented players. Ring chasing veterans align each bench in their final attempts at NBA glory. With legitimate superstars on each team, this has the potential to be one of the best NBA Finals in history if both teams handle their business in the Conference Finals. The story lines of revenge, redemption and glory only add fuel to the fire.

Needless to say NBA fans should be patient and let the cards fall where they may. Golden State and Cleveland are not in the clear yet as the Spurs and Celtics are still alive and fighting. At this point the NBA Finals rematch is not set in stone as anything is possible in the playoffs. Its time for fans to stop complaining and enjoy the show.
