The Kentucky Wildcats have seized another big-time recruit with the commitment of McDonalds All American Kevin Knox. Kentucky managed to beat out other schools such as Duke, North Carolina and Florida State. This commitment comes as a surprise as Knox had given no prior indication of where he would sign.
Knox was named Florida’s Mr. Basketball in his senior year of high school which goes to show just how dominant he has the potential be in college. The 6 feet 9-inch small forward was the second highest rated small forward in his class. He will be joining a stacked Wildcat team who boast the number one recruiting class in the country. Although its still early Knox certainly has the talent to be a one and done player. It all depends on whether he can have a successful freshman season at Kentucky. Early playing time certainly won’t come easy as Kentucky is loaded with talent. With expectations high Knox will be a player to watch out for next season.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari has consistently managed to sign top recruiting classes year in and year out. Although Kentucky has continuously gotten top recruits it hasn’t necessarily translated to championships. Maybe incoming freshman Kevin Knox can buck the trend and bring Kentucky a National Championship.
