The Butler Bulldogs have emerged as one of college basketball’s most enticing schools with a head coaching vacancy. Although Butler is a major college basketball program former head coach Chris Holtmann has moved on to a job at Ohio State. Luckily for the Bulldogs there are plenty of suitors on the open market.
Former Indiana head coach Tom Crean will surely emerge as a candidate for the head coaching vacancy at Butler. Crean had many successful seasons at Indiana which will only strengthen his resume. Although nothing is guaranteed don’t be surprised if Crean is the Bulldogs next head coach.
Another likely outcome would be a promotion from a current staff member. The Bulldogs have been known to take the conservative route instead of shopping for a big name. The formula has worked as Butler has been among the best teams in the NCAA recently. Although this would be the “boring” hire in the eyes of fans it is ultimately the most likely to occur.
