SEC wins big on 2018 National Signing Day

National Signing Day was in full effect on Wednesday and recruits were signing with various SEC schools.

With a lot of talent in the southeastern states like Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, the Carolinas, and even Texas, the SEC has long been known as the country’s top recruiting conference, and 2018 is no different.

The conference has 3 schools ranked in the top 10 of recruiting classes for 2018 with Georgia being ranked the #1 recruiting class of 2018. That’s the most of any other conferences.

What Kirby Smart and his Georgia coach staff has achieved in such a brief time in Athens is nothing short of incredible. Georgia always has been a fertile recruiting state, but it might be reaching a peak. Seven 5-star recruits in one class is something you would expect Alabama to do, but the Bulldogs are beating Nick Saban at his own game. This recruiting class could go down as one of the best.

Highest-ranked SEC recruits in 2018 class

Thirteen of the top 50 recruits in 247Sports composite player ranking are committed and/or signed SEC schools, with nine of those remaining prospects still uncommitted.
